Sugar Cookies

Made famous by: Heather McMullin

This is the BEST BEST BEST sugar cookie recipe I have ever tasted. DO NOT over cook them. They never get "brown" on top. The secret to a good sugar cookie is to under bake it slightly. Once you have made these a couple of times, you will know what it they look like when they are ready.

2 3/4 C. Flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
3/4 C. Soft Margerine (not real butter)
1 C. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Almond flavoring

Cream: Margerine, sugar, and eggs
Add: Almond flavoring
Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt then add the dry ingredients to the wet.

Let cool in fridge until firm. (a couple of hours)

Roll out to 1/4 inch thick, then use cookie cutters to cut out fun shapes

Bake at 350 for 8-10 min

Frosting:

I like this frosting recipe the best for sugar cookies because it hardens. That way when you decorate them all cute and then put them on a plate the cute decorating doesn't get all mushed.

powdered sugar
butter
milk
almond or vanilla flavoring

I am not sure about the measurements on this. (sorry) I just whip it up. Basically you just mix a couple cups of powdered sugar together with 1-2 tbs of butter, 1 tsp of flavoring, and then add milk until you get your desired consistancy. It is really fun to add food coloring to.
