Brownies Three ways

Made Famous By: Heather McMullin

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. In this case it certainly is.
This dessert makes it look like you spent loads of time, when you haven't.
Such a tricky trick.

Brownies Three Ways

One recipe for Ganache (follows)
Ghirardelli Brownie Mix or make your own from scratch
Strawberries halved
Crushed Candy
Heath Bar Bits

-Bake brownies as directed on box.
-While brownies are baking make your ganache.
-Cut them into one inch squares using a plastic knife. If you use a plastic knife the batter will not stick to the knife and you will get a nice clean edge.
-Divide the brownie squares into thirds.
-Put a dollop of Ganache on the top of each brownie.
-On one third of the brownies put strawberry halves.
-On another put crushed heath bars.
-On the last third put the crushed up candy. Make it fun and pick candy to match which ever holiday is closest.

Ganache
2 cups of Chocolate Chips or Bittersweet Chocolate
2 C Heavy Cream
2 tsp Vanilla Extract

In a pot bring some water to a boil and place a glass bowl over it. (This is a double boiler) Once the water is boiling, place the chocolate chips and heavy cream in the bowl. Continually stir until the chocolate has melted and the cream mixes in. Allow ganache to cool putting it on the brownies as.
The longer you allow the ganache to cool, the thicker it will set.
**If you want to whip the ganache stick it in the refrigerator so it is slightly cold before whipping.
**For piping or frosting, allow the ganache to completely cool and set up. When you are able to spoon the ganache and it can hold its texture, it is ready for piping.
