Apricot Jam= "The Elixir of the Gods"

Why yes, yes this is apricot jam.  
Here in the McMullin Family we call it 
"The Elixir of the Gods".  
For a very, very good reason mind you
The first time I had ever tried The Elixir of the Gods was, believe it or not, at Christmas time.  My Mother-in-Law had made some the previous summer, (the ANGEL!), and kept it frozen until Christmas time.  It was one of the best Christmas presents I have ever received....and it wasn't just for me either!  Everyone chowed down on this stuff.  I literally spooned tablespoon after tablespoon on her freshly baked rolls.  It was absolute heaven I tell you!!!!  Mouth watering heaven!!
Since then I hold this jam as my standard for excellence.  
If your recipe can't stand with the Elixir of the Gods 
then don't bother a knockin' at my door!  :)
If you do anything this summer, try this jam.
Apricots are in season right now.  
They are sweet, juicy, and Oh so wonderful!!
So right after you leave this page go straight to the store 
and pick up the ingredients to make 
The Elixir of the Gods, your family will thank you!!
Forget the toast and butter
- just give me a spoon.
Apricot Jam

5 1/2 cups fresh apricots
1 can (small) crushed pineapple (drained- reserve juice)
1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh)
1 pkg. orange jello (small)
1 pkg. pectin
5 1/2 cups sugar
1 small jar maraschino cherries (drained, cut in half)

 Steam the apricots (slow- 20 mins) peel and cut in quarters- then add sugar and 1 pkg. orange jello and cherries. Mix the lemon and reserved pineapple juice with the pectin, add to sugar and fruit and cook until sugar is dissolved - about 10 minutes. - Put in  containers and freeze.
