Oatmeal Crispies Cookies

Made Famous By:  McFearson Family/Cain Family
Staying true to my recipe hoarding slash addiction, I “lifted/stole” this recipe at a bridal shower.  Now wait a minute…I am not a bad person…..I told my friends I “lifted/stole” the recipe book after I did it.  That makes it right.  Right????

I COULDN’T RESIST!!  Besides it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

When a cookbook says Just Cookies on it and it is a compilation of the most famous cookies that my friends are known for it completely justifies my actions.  And can I just say that it has totally been worth it!!  Every single recipe that I have tried from the cook book has been absolute heaven.  I love you McFearson slash VanWoerkom family!!

Oatmeal Crispies Cookies
1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Well Beaten Eggs
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1 ½ Cups Sifted White Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
3 Cups Quick Cooking Oats

Directions
One-Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Two-Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
Three-Add oats and mix well.
Four- On wax paper shape the dough in the shape of a roll and then roll the dough up in the wax paper.  Chill thoroughly.   (About an hour)
Five- Slice ¼ inch thick and bake on an un-greased cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.
DO NOT OVER BAKE!!!!!  MUY IMPORTANTE!
