Sands Cookies

Made Famous By:  McAvoy/McFearson/VanWoerkom Families

Each morning that I wake up it is extremely difficult for me to get up and going for a number of reasons.  I am still healing after my surgery and I am defiantly NOT a morning person.  AND it takes me a few minutes to work my grouchies out.  Regardless, I look forward to doing the best that I can to send my kiddos off to school because it is such a gift to be a Mom.

This week I got to go on a field trip with my biggest boy.  I knew it was going to be hard for me physically, but I was still excited to get to spend a day with him.
My husband even called me and asked if I really wanted to go or if I physically could even do it.  I told him that I didn't care if it hurt, I was going to be there for him.

It is going to be days like this, field trip days, that he remembers me being there for him.

I can't even tell you how many times he sincerely hugged me and thanked me for being there with him that day.  The dinosaur exhibits, shark exhibits, and science exhibits were all amazing, but he loved me being there the most.  I wish I could freeze moments like these forever, but instead we make cookies and make more memories together.  :)

Sands Cookies
Cream together:
1 Cup Margarine
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla

2 1/4 Cups Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
3/4 Cup Chopped Nuts (I used Almonds)
-Shape into balls
-Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes
-Roll in powdered sugar while hot.
**Tip:  If you love nuts add more than 3/4 of a cup.  The nuts is what gives the cookie lots of yummy flavor.**
