Salmon with Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

Made Famous By:  Kathi Scott
The other day after I dropped my kids off at school I cried the whole way home.  I was feeling really sorry for myself for a few really valid reasons.  When I got home I sat on my comfy chair in our living room and ugly cried for a few minutes.

I was just about to go curl up in a bawl under my snugly blankets, cry some more and then take a little nap and then I thought GET A GRIP YOU SNIVELING BABY!!   You are acting like a defeated piece of caca!!

I then envisioned Edna from the Incredibles giving me a talking to.
“What are you talking about?  You are Elastia girl!  My goodness!  Pull yourself together!!  What will you do?  Is this a Question?  You will show him you remember that he is Mr. Incredible and you will remind him who you are.   You know where he is.  Go confront the problem.  FIGHT, WIN!!!!  And call me when you get back darling, I enjoy our visits.”

That is just what I did, pulled myself together.  I took a shower, read the scriptures, CRANKED up the music, opened all the shutters to let the light in and had a little party.  (All by myself, while I was cleaning up my house.)  I even sang along with the songs, even though I have the worst voice on the planet.

You see, I think once in a while we have to let it all out and have a good ugly cry, but then you need to be a big girl and get over it.  That is exactly what I did.  I got over it.  It does me no good to sit there and dwell on the things that are going wrong in my life.  I can’t change the fact that my brain surgery didn’t fix everything and that it is very likely that I will have to have a second brain surgery.  But I reminded myself who I am (thank you Edna) and changed the way that I reacted to the situation.

Life truly is what we make it.  J
